Investigative Board Order of Events

Prior to the hearing, the investigator will have prepared the case packet. In addition, the investigator will bring sufficient copies of the following items for each member: GHS Constitution, blank paper, and pencils.

1. Instructions to board members.

no writing in case packets
confidentiality of board discussions
panelists are not to take the case packets from the meeting room

2. Review of Investigative Board procedures.
3. Introductions.
4. Investigator summarizes the case.
5. Board members study case packet.
6. Floor is opened for discussion.
7. Faculty members are asked for final advice or comments.
8. Motion is made (either to send forward or to dismiss) by a student member.
9. Vote is taken and recorded.
10. Ask to nominate case representative for Judicial Panel hearing, if applicable.
11. Investigator collects all case packets and reminds board members of confidentiality.
12. Board meeting is adjourned.
